The Superfood-Packed Cacao Banana Smoothie Recipe
Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free, Vegan, Vegetarian
Makes 1 Serving
(Note: Use all organic, fresh ingredients if possible)
2 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp chia seeds (ground or soaked)
2 tbsp almond butter (use this recipe to make your own!)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (look for alcohol-free vanilla when buying)
1 tsp raw honey (optional)
1 frozen banana (medium)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk or nut milk of choice
3-4 ice cubes (add more if banana is not frozen)
1 tbsp cacao nibs (optional)
Optional: Add one packet of Vegan Chocolate Shakeology.
STEPS TO SOMETHING DELICIOUS
Pour milk into the blender first (this keeps things from sticking), then add in cacao powder, chia seeds, almond butter, vanilla, honey, and banana. Blend well. Can add 2-3 ice cubes for a colder “smoothie.” Blend again until smooth. Pour into your favorite mug, glass, or to-go cup. Enjoy the nutritious boost!
