Vanilla Hot ‘Chocolate’ Maca Energy Drink Recipe
Get an energy boost without the buzz of coffee using maca, one of my favorite superfoods. This root from Peru gives you energy in a non-caffeinated way that supports your body. Bonus: you’ll also be filling your body with calcium, potassium, iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, manganese, B vitamins and essential lipids, as maca is very nutrient rich!
It tastes delicious, almost like a creamy vanilla hot chocolate when you warm it up! But here’s the best part. This maca energy drink recipe is SUPER easy to make.
Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free, Vegan, Vegetarian
Makes 1 Serving
(Note: Use all organic, fresh ingredients if possible)
1 cup nut or rice milk
2 tsp maca powder
1 tsp Manuka honey (or any raw, unprocessed honey! Adding refined honey is just adding sugar.)
½ tsp vanilla (alcohol free)
STEPS TO SOMETHING DELICIOUS
Pour milk into the blender first (this keeps things from sticking), then add in maca, vanilla, and honey. Blend well until foamy. Can add 2-3 ice cubes for a colder “smoothie.” Or warm on low heat in a small pan for 1-2 minutes for a soothing hot drink to sip while you re-energize! Pour into your favorite mug, glass, or to-go cup. Enjoy the energizing boost!
